The Global Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of international trade operations across the company. Through setting global standards and optimizing, ensuring compliance with global regulations, driving automation and digitalization initiatives and optimizing processing globally related to trade compliance. They will bring strategic vision, regulatory expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence in a dynamic global trade environment ensuring Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies (TBCT) compliantly executes its $1.5B+ sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Own's and develop' s TBCT's global trade and compliance strategy and roadmap in line with global standard's leveraging, people, process and technology.
- Responsible for all Export Licenses for restricted products and embargoed countries (OFAC).
- Develop and set standards for global processes and SOPs to ensure compliance and efficiency (record retention policy for export documents in all regions, appropriate application of incoterms, etc.).
- Serve as the global subject matter expert and primary point of contact for customs and other trade topics.
- Ensure compliance with screening of the denied parties.
- Assist with regular audits, including C-TPAT, valuation, classification, etc.
- Ensure correct Certificate of Origin and compliance with Free Trade Agreements.
- Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, legal, and procurement teams to ensure compliant movement of goods across borders.
- Owns classification of products (HTS), valuation, country of origin determination, and FTA eligibility.
- Monitor global regulatory changes, assess impact and make recommendations on strategy pivots.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities through FTZs, duty drawback programs, and trade agreements.
- Develop and deliver trade compliance training programs for internal departments (Finance, Product Management, Sourcing, and Supply Chain).
- Collaborate on compliance projects and initiatives with other teams within the company, including Legal, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing and the legal and compliance departments of Terumo Group companies.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders throughout the company.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
Experience- Seven plus (7+) years of experience in global trade compliance, logistics, or supply chain management specifically sanctioned/restricted countries.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Experience with GTM software platforms (e.g., SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE).
- Experience of both in and outsourcing trade compliance processes.
- Experience with specialized clearances (e.g., ITAR, FDA for medical devices) strongly preferred.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) are a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Trade compliance, customs filing, duty/tax management.

Ability to interpret regulatory changes and assess financial impact. - Technology Proficiency: ERP integration, GTM platforms, automation tools from selection to successful deployment and up and downstream dependencies.
- Communication: Strong stakeholder engagement across global operations, legal, commercial finance, and compliance teams.
- Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage global teams.
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) certification is highly desired.
- Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) or similar certification preferred.
Lakewood, Colorado - Open to candidates that will relocate to the Denver metro area.
