Overview

Muller Engineering Company is seeking qualified candidates for its Traffic Engineering Group at the Design Engineer level. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled individual who wishes to be part of our expanding team. Education:

Bachelor’s Degree

• Design and develop traffic signal plans, signal and marking plans, construction traffic control plans, traffic design, and ITS plans for transportation facilities - including interstates, interchanges, urban arterials, rural roadways, and multimodal facilities.
• Provide outstanding client service by applying planning experience and knowledge with/focus on conducting road safety audits, safe streets for all plans and other safety-focused planning efforts.
• Assist mid-level and senior engineers in preparation of studies, reports, and design packages for a wide variety of traffic engineering and projects.
• Assist with traffic operations and conducting safety projects and studies including traffic signal timing, microsimulation modeling, multimodal planning, and safety studies.
• Take ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Perform field observation work when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or master’s degree in traffic/transportation engineering) from an accredited college or university.
• 0 – 3 years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
• A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment and creating designs that support our client’s overall project goals.
• Knowledge of and experience with Micro Station/Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering is a plus.
• Knowledge of and experience with Synchro, Sim Traffic, Trans Modeler or VISSIM is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products is a plus.

Engineer Intern (EI) in Colorado or other state

Base salary range for this position is: 70,000.00/yr - 85,000.00/yr dependent on individual education, qualifications, experience, and other factors.
