Civil Engineering, Structural Engineer
Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for an Architect or Engineer to join the Building Enclosure team in our Denver, Colorado office. This position will work with multiple project managers on a broad range of Building Enclosure project types including developing building enclosure designs and forensic evaluation of existing enclosure systems. The position will be responsible for conducting forensic investigations, production of drawings, specifications and development of reports.
Creativity and the ability to develop unique approaches to problems encountered during evaluation or design are desired traits.
A typical work week can include field investigations, non-destructive testing, hygrothermal analysis, development of reports and repair documents, and construction administration services. Projects will necessitate a balance between in-office design time and on-site evaluation time. Our projects are typically located in the Rocky Mountain Region but can sometimes take us nationally, offering the opportunity to travel. The position allows for interactions with property/facility managers, building owners, and contractors along with opportunities for marketing activities.

Of Responsibilities
- Coordinates and performs investigations and designs with in-house staff and clients
- Communicates schedule and technical information to clients, other consultants, and contractors
- Manages own work and that of others working on their projects
- Develops and follows safety plans for specific project conditions
- Follows project specific QA/QC plans
- Assembles construction drawings
- Writes and edits specifications
- Writes technical reports
- Other duties as assigned
This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
- Identify color
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Investigative:
Positions self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
- Bachelor's degree in either Engineering or Architecture.
- Demonstrated creativity and technical ability consistent with essential duties listed above.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working as an architect or engineer with ability to become licensed within 2 years.
