To manage and oversee air permitting and compliance activities of the Air Compliance Team in support of new projects and ongoing operations of Tallgrass Energy facilities. In addition to management responsibilities, the Air Compliance Manager also works as an individual contributor on the Air Compliance Team.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of direct and active work experience with air permitting and compliance in the oil and gas industry.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience with direct people management.
  • Working knowledge of the Clean Air Act and State regulations where Tallgrass assets are operated.
  • Previous experience in successfully interacting with Federal, State, and local agency officials related to air permitting authorizations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers (for travel).

  • Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and high organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with a team, follow management directions, adhere to schedules, and follow company policies.
  • Effective at managing multiple tasks with strict deadlines.

Physical Demands:

  • Minimal safety hazards; typical office conditions.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Regularly use hands for typing, handling, and feeling; talk and hear; stand and reach; occasionally walk, climb, or balance; lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Working Conditions:

  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Must carry a cell phone and be available outside regular hours.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a drug screen and background check, including a credit report for certain positions.

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline is advantageous.

Other responsibilities include performing duties as assigned, maintaining compliance and operational efficiency, and fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
