Edward Jones is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer III to join our Technology Division. This role focuses on architecting, implementing, and maintaining enterprise‑scale network monitoring and observability solutions supporting over 15,000 branch offices, on‑premises data centers, and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in network technologies including routing, switching, load balancing, and fabric‑based architectures paired with a passion for building scalable, resilient, and intelligent monitoring systems. You’ll work with tools such as Logic Monitor, Net Brain, Net Scout, and Dynatrace to ensure real‑time visibility, proactive alerting, and actionable insights across hybrid infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and implement network observability platforms for real‑time monitoring, traffic analysis, and performance diagnostics.
  • Develop and maintain centralized dashboards for unified visibility across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Design and deploy intelligent alerting systems to enable proactive incident detection and resolution.
  • Lead efforts to correlate network events across multiple tools and data sources to reduce noise and improve root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure monitoring coverage for routing, switching, load balancers, and fabric‑based networks.
  • Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of enhanced observability solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers on network monitoring best practices and the business impact of observability.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable monitoring architectures.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in visibility and proposing enhancements to tooling and processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation that outlines system dependencies, data flows, and observability touchpoints.
  • Lead small‑scale projects and contribute to larger initiatives with a focus on network health and performance.
What Experience You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including:
    • Routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
    • Layer 2/3 switching
    • Load balancing technologies
    • Fabric-based networking (e.g., EVPN, VXLAN)
  • Expert‑level proficiency in at least one of the following:
    • SNMP and telemetry‑based monitoring
    • Application flow analysis
    • Network topology mapping
    • Alert and issue correlation
What Could Set You Apart:
  • Experience with cloud‑native monitoring tools and APIs
  • Familiarity with network automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Python)
  • Exposure to AIOps or machine learning‑based alerting systems
  • Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent


** Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
