Placeand Hours of Performance
The GIS Analyst II shall perform duties on site in Lakewood, Colorado (Denver Metro Area), Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m., except for U.S. federal Holidays. This role allows for hybrid status and flexible hours with approval. Travel for site visits is required.
The GIS Analyst II serves as the project manager for team by acting as the intermediate between Montech Inc. and federal government counterparts. Work to be performed shall include but is not be limited to the following:
- Knowledge of legal land descriptions, roads & leases.
- Use various cartographic/spatial functions when appropriate to make maps/applications fit stakeholders needs utilizing ESRI parcel fabric environment.
- Develop geospatial dashboards/applications to support leadership/OTS Division Chief missions.
- Develop scripts as needed to support geospatial workflows and applications. Help develop and assist with the parcel fabric process/workflow.
- All-new digital spatial data shall have appropriate BIA‑compliant metadata produced for each dataset and must conform to BIA data standards for integration with existing datasets.
- Establish templates for mapping products/applications when appropriate to ensure the best data consistency possible.
- Document all procedures that do not already have SOPs for data consistency and knowledge transfer.
The GIS Analyst II will respond to project requests involving the use of various technologies including but not limited to Smartsheet.
GOV and the ESRI Suite of GIS software. Tasks within these environments and other future technology environments include:
- Mapping of legal land descriptions from Trust Asset and Accounting Management System (TAAMS) for parcels, tracts, ROW, leases and other encumbrances on Trust Lands.
- Migrating Land Area Code (LAC) data to ESRI Enterprise Parcel Fabric on the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) AWS portal.
- Creation of Dashboards and/or Dynamic views used for conveying information as well as work progress for DRIS projects.
- Assisting in Fee‑To‑Trust process and working with the Land Description and Validation Request (LDEV) Team.
Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test and a federal security investigation (background check) and receive a U.S. Department of the Interior Public Trust clearance prior to start date. The background investigation reviews employment, criminal, financial, and personal history to ensure there are no outstanding violations.
