Job title: Manufacturing Maintenance Technician 3

Shift: 2nd Shift 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Works independently to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and improve manufacturing equipment, and mentor less experienced technicians. Daily activities include PMs and monitoring equipment performance. Duties include troubleshooting and repair on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and controls systems with emphasis on automation, PLCs, and robotic devices. Identifies opportunities to improve equipment performance and can manage small projects on semi-automated or fully automated equipment.

• Performs tasks in accordance with company policies, procedures and guidelines including safety, GMP and cleanroom requirements.
• Completes maintenance activities such as advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls and electrical systems to ensure equipment and processes run smoothly.
• Independently troubleshoots complex equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability.
• Contributes to process optimization through equipment design improvements and updates to operating and maintenance procedures/activities.
• Ensures calibrations are current on all machines and that proper operations occur after calibration.
• Continues to develop technical skills and knowledge through schooling, self-study, online training, and collaboration with team members.
• Mentors less experienced technicians to help build their skills.
• Maintains a high level of knowledge of manufacturing technologies, processes and equipment across all areas.
• Responds and executes work with urgency to minimize downtime.
• Completes tasks in a timely fashion and aims for first-time correctness.
• Maintains composure under pressure.
• Collaborates with engineers on complex problem solving.
• Proactively conducts investigations; recommends changes and upgrades to equipment.
• Contributes to process validation activities.
• Performs routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitors systems, isolates problems and performs repairs.
• Assists in new technology or equipment specification, installation, and modifications.
• Provides operation training on automated systems to maintenance technicians and production operations.
• Supports department KPIs, metrics and objectives.

• May be required to work on other shifts and to be on call as needed.
• May lead special projects.
• Provide technical assistance to non-production departments regarding projects, installations and repairs.
• Opportunities may exist for domestic/international travel.
• Requires adherence to policies for hazardous materials, LOTO, equipment guarding, robotic safety and biohazard.

Education

• Required:
  
  High school diploma or GED.
• Previous coursework/equivalent experience required in PLCs.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in maintenance/technical support in a medical/GMP regulated environment.
• Preferred experience in support of manufacturing.

  Highly proficient with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment; proficient with metric and English measurement systems; ability to read complex mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts and other technical drawings.
• Advanced electrical/mechanical knowledge with machines and tools including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Experience with RF Welding theory/process, bonding, ultrasonic welding, hot plate welding, leak testing, etc.
