American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring CRRT competency and a Colorado or compact RN license.
Details- Surgical Medical ICU setting within an acute care hospital, 12 beds
- 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
- Patient population includes respiratory distress, DKA, renal failure, post-op surgical ICU cases (vascular, oncology, flaps), and non-STEMI post-code patients
- RNs titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized medications
- RNs read their own telemetry strips using Philips monitors
- RT coverage in ICU 24/7 with CPAP, BiPap, high flow, and ventilator equipment available
- Hospitalist or intensivist in house
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Self-scheduling with a minimum of six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
- Holiday coverage required
- Call or standby requirements determined by nurse manager
- First to float, with floating within Zone 3 possible if extreme need arises
- EPIC EMR used
- Active CO state or compact (NLC) RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA)
- CRRT certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- General critical care experience required
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and demonstrate strong teamwork skills
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
- Provide critical care nursing to a mixed surgical-medical ICU population
- No tele/monitor techs on unit; RNs are responsible for reading their own strips
- No nurse aides on this unit
- Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
- Navy blue scrub color required
- Orientation is 12 hours; clinicians must be in-state for week of orientation even if initial modules are remote
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
- Float radius policy applies; travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet float zone requirements
- Candidates may not have been directly employed by any Common Spirit-affiliated facility within the past year
