Evolution Veterinary Primary Care is a newly added general practice located with Evolution Veterinary Specialists (EVS). EVS is a privately owned, AAHA‑accredited, 26,000 sq‑ft specialty and emergency hospital located at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Our state‑of‑the‑art facility includes a 2,500 sq‑ft ICU featuring Snyder units and high‑flow oxygen therapy, designed to support our most critical patients. We also offer a newly expanded, four‑suite surgery center and an on‑site blood bank to support advanced procedures and trauma care.
Additional highlights include specialty procedure suites, a full imaging center with CT, and cutting‑edge technology such as 4D echocardiography, fluoroscopy, laparoscopy, and laser therapy.

Your Role as a General Practice VeterinarianAs a vital member of our general practice team, you’ll play a hands‑on role in primary patient care, ongoing care for specialty patients, and follow‑up from our emergency clinic. This position is ideal for a compassionate, highly skilled, and curious individual who thrives in fast‑paced, collaborative environments and wants to make a difference every single day.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated General Practice Veterinarian to spearhead the development and growth of our new GP service within our specialty practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to build long‑term client relationships and manage a diverse caseload while collaborating closely with board‑certified specialists in internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, and other disciplines.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, enthusiastic about mentorship and team building, and committed to practicing high‑quality, evidence‑based medicine.
You’ll Use Your Expertise To:Provide Advanced Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic medical care for dogs and cats, including routine exams, vaccinations, dentistry, and soft‑tissue surgery.
- Develop individualized wellness and treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Utilize advanced diagnostics (in‑house lab, digital imaging, ultrasound) and collaborate with specialists for complex cases.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records consistent with AAHA and hospital standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to design and implement workflows, protocols, and medical standards for the GP service.
- Assist in selecting equipment, supplies, and support staff as the service grows.
- Build and maintain strong referral relationships with the specialty departments.
- Participate in marketing and outreach to introduce the GP service to the community.
- Partner with specialty and emergency teams to ensure continuity of care for shared patients.
- Support and mentor veterinary nurses, assistants, and client service representatives.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and learning‑focused work culture.
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary college.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Colorado.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in small animal general practice preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and team members.
- Comfort managing both wellness and minor urgent‑care cases.
