Asbestos Consultant Experienced - AMS​/BI

Lakewood, CO | Full-Time Preferred (Part-Time Considered)

Schafer Environmental Consulting Inc. (Schafer) is a small, growing environmental consulting firm based in Lakewood, Colorado. We are a full-service environmental consulting company specializing in asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold consulting, with additional services including radon testing, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and other industrial hygiene tasks.

We are currently seeking an experienced asbestos consultant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with previous experience looking to build a long-term career in environmental consulting.

As an asbestos consultant, you will support a variety of field and reporting activities, including:

• Performing asbestos inspections and air sampling
• Conducting lead-based paint, mold, and radon sampling
• Assisting with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
• Completing technical reports following fieldwork
• Traveling to different job sites most days (local and regional)

This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and Owner and does not include supervisory responsibilities.

• Previous experience performing asbestos building inspections and air sampling.
• Asbestos building inspector and asbestos air monitoring specialist certifications
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites

• Required certifications:
• Certified Air Monitoring Specialist
• Annual Salary: $70,000 to $95,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience
