Job SummaryAssists in the maintenance of the college campus. Performs preventative and electrical maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform minor maintenance and repair to designated equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance on building equipment.
- Monitor boiler chemicals and settings.
- Perform basic electrical repairs/installation.
- Perform general maintenance.
- Operate and clean manual and power maintenance equipment; perform minor equipment repair.
- Willingness to learn and perform tasks related to Structured Technology cabling, CAT6 cable, Fiber Optics, Cabling Terminations, installation of Security Cameras, Door Access, Sound Systems and Streaming Systems.
- Perform trash and snow removal.
- Light construction and other building needs as requested.
- Perform scheduled maintenance.
- Be on call for after hours as needed.
- Cover on call for the Director of Facilities when needed.
- Behaviors and Attitudes reflect RMCAD's Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Four years of experience in electrical work required.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Must know and be able to apply the National Electrical Code (NEC); maintain knowledge of any changes in the code.
- Current State of Colorado Journeyman Electrical license required.
- Must be able to perform tasks such as: connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; install conduit and new outlets; repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools; assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools; test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes;
use a variety of tools or equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment; plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures; inspect electrical systems; diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment.
- Exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Works near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.
- High places, extreme heat, wet/humid conditions, risk of electrical shock.
- Noisy work environment.
- Can move objects up to 100 pounds; bending, stretching, climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces.
- Occasional nights and weekends; 24‑hour calls may be required.
