Job Summary

The PT Clinician is responsible for providing assessments and clinical services primarily for young adults (ages 18–22), while also serving a broader age range.

Responsibilities
  • Individual needs of persons served are addressed including intake assessment and evaluation, referral, follow‑up services, individual, group, and family therapy. On‑call hours, as needed.
  • Works effectively with the full spectrum of diagnostic disorders.
  • Demonstrates familiarity about psychotropic medication use, side effects and indications for psychiatric intervention.
  • Demonstrates ability to assess risk category, mental status, level of compliance and motivation.
  • Demonstrates ability to assess clients’ needs, establish group cohesiveness and provide interventions that are timely and appropriate.
  • Clinicians shall provide psycho‑education that may include relevant education about the person’s disability or disorder, family interactions, community integration, relationships, or importance of living skills.
  • Completion of a service plan and other documentation is to be submitted as required.
  • When appropriate, coordination of, or assistance with, crisis intervention and stabilization services shall be carried out.
  • Linkage of persons served to community‑based services to maximize access to services while considering resource gaps and problems of service delivery.
  • Facilitating access to appropriate services and community mental health and non‑mental health systems shall be encouraged by ongoing individual clinical support and monitoring.
  • Encourage family members and significant others to collaborate in the treatment process by participating in treatment planning. Education and support shall be provided as needed and requested by family members, and direct service support shall be provided to persons’ served natural system including family, friends, employers, and self‑help groups.
  • Coordination, integration, and monitoring of services delivered from multiple providers until persons served are discharged from IOPSS is essential to the advocacy process.
  • Further duties include assisting persons served with accessing transportation, securing appropriate housing, and exploring employment or other meaningful activities.
  • Completes termination forms and other discharge planning activities with consumer involved when possible.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies
  • Must maintain required CPR, and first aid education/certification.
  • Must be able to attend at least two quarterly Agency meetings per year.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with organizational policy and procedure.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Licensure: LSW, LAC, LPC, LCSW
