A rapidly growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) is seeking a senior-level Tier 3 IT Technician / Systems Engineer to lead advanced technical projects, handle high-level escalations, and guide clients through modern cloud transformations. This organization supports multi‑site and enterprise environments and is known for delivering proactive, client‑centered IT services with an emphasis on cloud, security, and modern workplace technologies.
About the RoleThis position is ideal for an experienced engineer who has deep expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, identity management, and networking—along with the maturity to lead projects, own escalations, and communicate clearly with both clients and internal teams. You will act as a senior technical authority, mentor lower‑tier engineers, design solutions, and execute migrations across cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
What You’ll Be DoingEscalation & Advanced Troubleshooting
- Handle Tier 3 escalations from Tier 1 & Tier 2 teams.
- Resolve complex issues in Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, networking, and identity systems.
- Perform deep root‑cause analysis and deliver permanent fixes.
Project Implementation & Migrations
- Lead or co‑lead:
- Microsoft 365 tenant deployments
- Email and data migrations
- SharePoint & One Drive transitions
- Intune & Autopilot rollouts
- Network and infrastructure upgrades
- Provide architecture‑level guidance for cloud‑first transformations.
Cloud & Identity Management
- Manage Microsoft 365 admin centers, including:
- Exchange Online
- Teams
- Share Point
- One Drive
- Configure Azure AD:
- Conditional Access
- Compliance policies
- Identity protection
- App integrations
Networking & Infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot:
- Firewalls (Sonic Wall, Meraki, Unifi, Forti Gate, Cisco)
- VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi
- DNS, DHCP, multi‑site connectivity
- Design network environments for performance, security, and resilience.
Endpoint & Security Management
- Architect Intune environments including:
- Device profiles & baselines
- Compliance policies
- Autopilot provisioning
- Defender for Endpoint deployments
- Manage security posture through Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance portals.
Azure Administration
- Support Azure services including:
- Azure AD
- Virtual Machines
- Cloud networking
- Resource management & optimization
Server & File System (Migration‑Focused)
- Support migration‑related server tasks:
- AD cleanup & GPO rationalization
- DNS validation
- File share migrations to SharePoint/One Drive
- Decommissioning legacy systems
Automation & Scripting
- Use Power Shell to automate provisioning, maintenance, and reporting.
- Build reusable scripts for scalable operations.
Security & Compliance
- Configure SPF, DKIM, DMARC.
- Improve endpoint protection and security posture.
- Ensure adherence to organizational and client security standards.
Documentation & Mentorship
- Write clear documentation for configs, deployments, and tickets.
- Mentor Tier 1/2 engineers and review their work.
- Help develop standardized procedures and best practices.
Virtualization & Cloud Services
- Support migrations into Azure from VMware or Hyper‑V environments.
- Provide guidance on architecture, performance, and cost optimization.
Hardware & Software Support (Advanced)
- Perform deep diagnostics on desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Oversee patching, driver management, and software rollouts at scale.
Client Interaction
- Build strong, friendly working relationships with clients.
- Provide training on best practices, system usage, and security awareness.
Service Delivery
- Maintain accurate tickets, documentation, and client communication via ITSM tools.
- Participate in after‑hours escalations when required.
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- 5+ years experience in an MSP or similar fast‑paced IT environment.
- 3+ years handling Tier 3‑level responsibilities
