Product Developer - Business Intelligence

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Developer with strong business intelligence and data reporting skills to join our growing team. You’ll be creating and maintaining data solutions that drive business decisions, working primarily with Power BI, SQL, and reporting tools.
This is a hands‑on technical role where you'll spend most of your time building dashboards, writing queries, and creating reports that our stakeholders rely on daily.

• Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
• Write complex SQL queries for data analysis and reporting
• Create and optimize DAX measures and calculated columns
• Build and maintain SSRS reports
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Optimize existing reports and dashboards for performance
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting solutions

• SQL: Strong ability to write complex queries (joins, subqueries, aggregations, CTEs)
• Power BI: Experience building dashboards, creating visualizations, and managing datasets
• DAX: Comfortable writing measures, calculated columns, and time‑intelligence functions
• SSRS: Experience creating and deploying reports

• Data modeling experience
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
• ETL/data integration experience
• Familiarity with other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
• Experience with Azure or cloud‑based data platforms
• Understanding of database performance optimization

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Excellent communication skills with non‑technical stakeholders
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

We’re looking for someone who has:

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Power BI and SQL
• A track record of building reports and dashboards that people actually use
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• The ability to be productive quickly with minimal ramp‑up time

You might come from backgrounds like:

• Data Analyst transitioning into development
• SQL Developer with BI experience
• Junior BI Developer looking to grow
• Reporting Analyst wanting more technical depth

This role focuses specifically on BI and reporting. If your primary background is:

• Web development (Shopify, Word Press, front‑end)
• Software engineering without BI/reporting focus
• IT/infrastructure without data analytics experience

First 30 Days:

• Understand our data model and existing reports
• Make minor updates to existing Power BI dashboards
• Write SQL queries independently

First 90 Days:

• Build new Power BI dashboards from requirements
• Create complex DAX measures
• Optimize existing reports for performance
• Work independently on smaller projects

First 6 Months:

• Own reporting projects end‑to‑end
• Mentor junior team members
• Identify and implement process improvements
