High-Growth Revenue Cycle Management Organization focused on Behavioral Health.
Trenton / Lakewood, NJ – In‑Office Leadership (4 days/week).
About the RoleA rapidly expanding revenue cycle management (RCM) organization serving the behavioral health sector is seeking a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead its operational strategy, workflow optimization, and organizational scale‑up. The company has experienced significant growth since 2023—quadrupling in size—and is preparing for a 3–5 year value‑creation and expansion plan.
Why This Role MattersThe business is experiencing a surge of inbound demand, but the leadership team is intentionally measured in taking on new clients to avoid overextending operational capacity. The COO will be the key leader who enables the company to scale by enhancing processes, improving technology, strengthening client delivery, and building a high‑performing operations engine.
This role is ideal for someone who understands behavioral health RCM, thrives in high‑growth environments, and knows how to create structure without slowing momentum.
What You Will Lead Operational Strategy & Scalability- Design, implement, and refine operational workflows that support rapid growth
- Build the infrastructure for consistent, high‑quality service delivery
- Create scalable playbooks across intake, onboarding, client management, and RCM production
- Assess and modernize the existing technology stack
- Introduce workflow automation and reporting systems
- Strengthen operational visibility through data and analytics
- Ensure client and payer reporting is accurate, timely, and meaningful
- Oversee and elevate the day‑to‑day performance of all operational functions
- Implement structured communication and reporting frameworks for clients
- Support payer/credentialing oversight and client compliance needs
- Lead, develop, and mentor the operations, RCM, and client‑facing teams
- Build accountability systems, KPIs, and management routines
- Collaborate closely with ownership and executive leadership on long‑term planning
- Foster a culture of clarity, communication, and continuous improvement
You’re likely a strong fit if you have:
- Senior leadership experience in revenue cycle management, ideally with behavioral health exposure
- Proven ability to scale operations in a high‑growth services environment
- Deep experience with workflow design, process improvement, and tech stack optimization
- A builder’s mentality—comfortable creating structure where it doesn’t yet exist
- Strong communication and relationship skills, especially with clients
- A hands‑on, collaborative, in‑office leadership style
Nice‑to‑have: Experience with payer/credentialing operations in behavioral health.
Location & Work ModelThis role is in‑office at least four days per week at the company’s New Jersey operational hubs (Trenton / Lakewood). Some consolidation of office locations is expected as the company grows.
