This assignment provides on-site safety oversight for a mechanical subcontractor supporting a civil construction project in Lakewood, Washington. The Safety Manager will support active field operations and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed across all mechanical scopes.

Primary Activities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Safety oversight of mechanical construction activities on a civil project
• Enforcement of site-specific and subcontractor safety policies and procedures
• Field-based hazard identification and proactive risk mitigation
• Oversight of mechanical work practices, equipment use, and material handling
• Daily interaction with craft personnel, foremen, and site leadership
• Support of project-specific safety programs and regulatory compliance

• Maintain a consistent on-site field presence during active work hours
• Monitor work activities for compliance with OSHA and site safety requirements
• Identify, communicate, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors
• Conduct job hazard analyses, safety orientations, and toolbox talks as required
• Complete daily safety documentation, reports, and observations
• Participate in safety meetings and coordination efforts with project teams
• Support incident prevention and continuous safety improvement initiatives

• ✅ OSHA 30 certification required, construction preferred
• ✅ Prior experience supporting mechanical subcontractors
• ✅ Experience working on civil or infrastructure projects preferred
• ✅ Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
• ✅ Ability to work independently and enforce safety expectations

This role is well-suited for a hands-on Safety Manager who is comfortable supporting mechanical subcontractors in an active civil construction environment. Candidates should be proactive, field-focused, and confident enforcing safety requirements while maintaining strong relationships with project teams.
