Position: Special Operations Performance Dietitian (4/160 SOAR. JBLM, WA)

Overview

Special Operations Performance Dietitian (4/160 SOAR. JBLM, WA) – onsite at Fort Campbell with relocation offered. This role supports nutritional guidance to enhance recovery and optimize performance for SOF personnel, with a focus on SOF Operators and Direct Combat Support personnel under the POTFF contract.

Responsibilities
  • Performs administrative and clinical duties within their scope of practice.
  • Provide nutritional planning, counseling, and documentation guided by evidence-based literature.
  • Advise the chain of command on issues pertinent to nutrition and performance nutrition.
  • Work within the scope of practice, which may include ordering labs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling for guidance on performance nutrition.
  • Design and implement performance nutrition programs for SOF personnel in Garrison, TDY, and deployed settings.
  • Develop nutritional protocols and guidelines for rehabilitation and performance.
  • Collaborate with the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator for implementation of new protocols and guidelines.
  • Advise on dining facility and galley nutrition and liaison between food service and command.
  • Assist other regional SOF assets as required by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and approved by the chain of command.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with POTFF staff and medical personnel as requested.
  • Advise on supplementary nutrition, supplements, and performance-enhancing substances within POTFF.
  • Ensure educational materials and sports nutrition supplies are available.
  • Assist with supply inventories and provide input on supply needs.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities under the PD are safe and properly utilized.
  • Maintain records as required and participate in training and continuing education to maintain professional certification.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training requirements.
  • Record workload, education programs, and quality assurance activities as assigned.
  • Develop and promulgate training materials as requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator.
  • Document work performed in the Military’s EHR and HP Enterprise-wide databases as directed.
  • Collect and report data as requested by the HP program Manager and/or Coordinator and USSOCOM HQ.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Secret Clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Nutrition Science or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with American Dietetic Association certification and CSSD (specialty) certification; CSSD may be waived if other qualifications are met, but should be earned within six months of employment.
  • Current and valid state certification/licensure.
  • May be required to obtain clinical practice privileges.
  • Minimum 3+ years as a Performance Dietitian with athletes at NCAA, Olympic, professional, or SOF levels; government civilian/contract experience with embedded on-site roles is accepted.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to meet physical demands of SOF training, observe evolutions, and assist with strength and conditioning.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills/Training
  • Prior military and/or SOF experience.
  • CSCS certification.

Compensation

Base compensation: $73,600.00 – $. The salary range is national and location-dependent; the offered rate will reflect contract affordability, location, qualifications, and experience.

Additional compensation may include bonuses, relocation benefits, and other incentives as per policy or contractual designation.
