About Emerald City Enhanced Services
Emerald City Enhanced Services (ECES) is a 16-bed Enhanced Services Facility serving adults with complex behavioral health needs. Our team works collaboratively to provide clinically informed, trauma-responsive support in a home-like environment.
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented dual role as an On-Call, Vacation Relief Registered Nurse (RN) and Mental Health Professional (MHP) to join our skilled care team with the potential to turn into a full-time.
Position Summary
The RN/MHP provides clinical oversight, direct nursing care, behavioral health support, and care coordination for residents with significant mental health needs. This role compliance with WAC 388-107, supports safety and quality improvement efforts, and contributes to an interdisciplinary model of care.
This position combines traditional nursing responsibilities with behavioral health engagement, assessment, and therapeutic communication.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Nursing Care
- Complete comprehensive resident assessments on admission and ongoing.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized service plans.
- Provide direct nursing interventions when temporary or clinically necessary.
- Administer, monitor, and reconcile medications according to facility policy.
- Monitor chronic conditions, wounds, vital signs, labs, and changes in health status.
- Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies.
- Assess behavioral changes, mental status, and psychosocial needs.
- Support residents through crises, stressors, and coping challenges.
- Participate in clinical review meetings regarding behavioral plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, ARNPs, therapists, and outside service providers.
- Participate in admissions, transition-of-care processes, and family communication.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, service plan reviews, and quality improvement meetings.
- Ensure all documentation meets DSHS, WAC 388-107, and facility standards.
- Review and transcribe physician orders.
- Track and follow up on labs, orders, pending faxes, and care plan updates.
- Conduct quality improvement audits as assigned.
- Supervise and support LPN's and Direct Care Staff.
- Provide in-service training, delegation oversight, and ongoing clinical teaching.
- Mentor staff on resident safety, documentation, and best practices.
- Daily: Review labs, update service plans, check orders, oversee floor staff, support new admissions, assist with incident investigations.
- Weekly: Service plan reviews, wound assessments, staff updates, medication delegation tasks.
- Monthly: Weight audits, care plan documentation review, medication/treatment recap.
- Quarterly: Quality improvement audits, restraint-device reviews, behavioral health assessments.
Required
- Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license, in good standing.
- Meets Washington definition of Mental Health Professional (MHP) with active RN license.
- Experience working in behavioral health, residential care, community mental health, or related settings.
- Experience in an Enhanced Services Facility, E&T, BHU, crisis stabilization, or long-term behavioral health setting.
- Familiarity with WAC 388-107 and trauma-informed practices.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a management role
