Location & Work Details
  • Location: Lakewood, Washington – Joint Base Lewis‑McChord (In‑Person)
  • Type: Non‑Exempt, Hourly
  • Compensation: $28.50 – $39.18 per hour
  • Work Schedule: Full‑time, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (Flexible start and end times)
Responsibilities
  • Source candidates and build a talent pipeline through networking, career events, online platforms, social media, and professional organizations, particularly those serving people with disabilities and veterans.
  • Identify and develop diverse candidate pools for active and future hard‑to‑fill positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements, provide strategic staffing counsel, and conduct labor‑market assessment.
  • Promote the hiring of Ability One qualified employees and maintain a minimum 75% Ability One ratio in sourcing.
  • Create compelling job postings and provide market feedback to hiring managers.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews, pre‑employment skill testing, background checks, drug screens, immunizations, and occupational medical requirements.
  • Prescreen candidates by reviewing resumes and credentials for skill, experience, and knowledge fit.
  • Extend contingent job offers, communicating position details, compensation, and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of requisitions and candidate interactions in Workday (HRIS/ATS).
  • Initiate and maintain recruitment contacts, fostering relationships with agencies and outreach partners.
  • Comply with affirmative action plans and keep managers informed of EEO and affirmative action guidelines and laws.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with new employee orientation, including necessary forms, background checks, interview scheduling, status changes, and offer processing.
  • Participate in departmental and cross‑functional team meetings and projects.
  • Obtain disability documentation from applicants as required by Ability One contract requirements.
  • Exercise discretion and confidentiality with candidates.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or Business required.
  • 3–5 years of HR or recruiting experience required.
  • Combination of education and experience considered.
  • Must live within commutable distance of the Bremerton, Washington office.
  • Valid state driver’s license; must obtain and maintain Tessera insurance coverage.
  • REAL‑ driver’s license, US passport, or military  for federal installation access. More info.
