Lake City Community Church (LC3) is an independent, non-denominational church located in Lakewood, WA that celebrated 100 years of faithful ministry in 2023. Over the last 3 years, we have grown over 50% and currently average between weekend service attendance. As we have grown, our leadership team has been convicted of the need to grow our pastoral staff to better shepherd our people.
This role
:
The Pastor of Counseling and Congregational Care is a full-time position who would lead, develop, and oversee a counseling ministry; as well as lead and oversee the processes and programs related to congregational care. This role would report directly to the Lead Pastor.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead Counseling Ministry
- Spend 30-50% of his time counseling individuals/couples/families
- Develop a vision for a lay counseling ministry
- Recruit, train, and staff lay counseling ministry
- Oversee Congregational Care
- Lead in developing and implementing a vision and strategy for Congregational Care
- Work with Community Groups to utilize them as primary means of care
- Oversee and participate in visitations
- Provide oversight for all care ministries, including but not limited to: benevolence fund, caring meals ministry, Grief Share (for those grieving the loss of loved ones), Divorce Care, Re Generation (addiction recovery), and Life Team (protecting the sanctity of human life from pregnancy through natural death)
- Other Pastoral Responsibilities
- Preach and teach, as needed during weekend services or other ministry events
- Perform baptisms, communion, weddings, and memorial services, as needed
- Attend leadership team, pastoral team, and staff meetings
Education and Experience d Preferred
- College/seminary degree required.
- 5+ years experience in Counseling or Care ministries
- Experience leading a team
- Devotion to Christ and His kingdom
- Passion for counseling
- Passion for people and shepherding people

Compensation: $90,000
