Pet Smart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon-specific services, and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.

• Complete Pet Smart’s Splash training and safety certification program.
• Manage the pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone, and at the sales register.
• Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations.
• Handle check-in and check-out procedures.
• Independently perform full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) per Pet Smart’s standards.
• Share additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on each pet’s needs.
• Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
• Take action for sick or injured pets and arrange veterinary transport as needed.
• Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services.
• Maintain overall store cleanliness and assist in other departments as required.
• Participate in the culture of Belonging and Recognition.
• Follow all Company Policies and Procedures.

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Flexibility in schedule; availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Stand, walk, climb a ladder; use hands to handle, feel, hold, write; depth perception. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Exposure to moving parts, wet environment with pet hair; moderate to high noise levels; exposure to live animals.
