Veterinary Assistant - Triage

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant.

$20.30 - $30.10 / Hr

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am - $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am - $8.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm - $4.50 Shift Differential

• Day Shift: 7a - 6p
• Night Shift: 6p - 5a
• 4 days on, 4 days off

• Intake and triage of incoming patients.
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
• Comfortably take vitals, including accurately counting heart rate, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
• Client communication and education.
• Perform consistent rechecks, chart vital sign trends and client updates.
• Constant communication with intaking doctor to ensure prompt and proper patient care.
• Stocking and cleaning as needed.
• Monitor waiting/exam room clients; assist with refreshments/marketing materials; update clients on wait time/patient status.
• Maintain open communication with the doctor and technical staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow regarding long wait times.
• Manage Cornerstone/Instinct hospital census.
