Responsibilities- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.
- Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet, assist, and recommend products, actively promote Game Stop benefits, and apply all selling behaviors during every transaction.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system, handle phone and in‑store inquiries, and elevate issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
- Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders, ensuring staffing levels achieve optimum guest service and that associates receive timely feedback, onboarding, and ongoing training.
- Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising, and store fixture readiness; oversee inventory control, loss prevention, and daily cash handling including bank deposits and payroll processing.
- Coordinate omni‑channel order fulfillment, defectives/recalls processing, and merchandise counts, reporting discrepancies to store leadership.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States and 18+ years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
- At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred; at least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of video games and gaming culture is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient with POS computer systems and basic mathematics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays (minimum 3 days/week).
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform basic stretching and reaching tasks.
