Field Chemist – Waste Xpress Environmental (WXE)

Waste Xpress Environmental (WXE) is a division of Pacific Northern Environmental LLC, providing hazardous waste disposal services across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. We treat every customer with the importance they deserve and the service they expect.

The Field Chemist is responsible for lab packing, hazardous material classification, hazardous waste determination, labeling materials according to regulations, and preparing shipping documents. Hands‑on field work with the team is required.

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• 2–3 years experience with lab packing, hazardous material classification, and hazardous waste determination or a B.S. in a related industry.
• Ability to load drums and other containers onto truck using a drum dolly and liftgate.
• Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently.
• Good driving record to pass insurance requirements.

• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Go to customers’ locations to perform industrial cleaning projects, including lab packing, labeling, and manifesting waste in compliance with DOT 105‑180 and EPA 40 CFR 260‑280.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Report maintenance issues, keep vehicle clean, and assist with process efficiencies.
• Actively process waste at IRM during high‑need times.
• Help offload trucks at our facility and assist with sales preparation.
• Perform working labpack/loosepack jobs and assist in all large jobs.
• Perform hazcatting, report all accidents and injuries, and complete accident reports.
• Maintain professional customer interactions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ascend/descend ladders or stairs occasionally.
• Travel up to 20 % of the time.
