Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a day shift OR Circulator/Pre-Op/PACU position in Colorado, requiring strong skills across all three perioperative areas.
Responsibilities- Hospital setting with 3 operating suites and a combined pre-op/PACU area
- Circulator, Pre-Op, and PACU responsibilities required within the surgical services department
- Surgical cases include general, OB/GYN, cataract surgeries, and orthopedics once or twice a month
- Work schedule is day shift Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm
- Occasional late days required to complete daily case load
- Rotational surgical call, including weekdays, weekends, and some holidays
- Works alongside a single anesthesia provider and other circulating staff
- Direct patient care provided in pre-op, intra-op, and post-anesthesia phases
- Responsibilities include assessment, documentation, patient preparation, recovery, circulating cases, and assisting with instrument processing
- Serves as primary caregiver and may assist with patient education and staff support
- Adheres to infection control and organizational protocols consistent with IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN standards
- Reports to the Surgical Services Manager
- Holiday and rotational weekend call coverage required
- Active CO or compact RN license must be in hand
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- At least 3 years of recent experience in Pre-Op, OR Circulator, and PACU roles (5 years preferred)
- ACLS certification required
- CNOR and scrub experience preferred
- Ability to perform under stress and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Able to stand, walk, and lift heavy loads for long periods
- Comfortable with blood, body fluids, and potential exposure to infectious diseases
