Position: Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Embark on a transformative journey as a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery in Lamar, Colorado, where your expertise will illuminate the pathways to safe, compassionate newborn care and empowering family experiences. In this role, you’ll stand beside mothers through the most meaningful moments of birth, translating clinical skill into comfort, advocacy, and evidence-based practice. You’ll guide, support, and collaborate with obstetric teams to ensure best outcomes for babies and families while expanding your own professional horizon through exposure to diverse clinical scenarios and payer environments.

When you envision your impact, you’re not just filling a shift—you’re guiding beginnings, mentoring colleagues, and shaping the standard of care in dynamic, real‑world settings. And as you travel, Colorado’s wide‑open skies, sunlit plains, and proximity to outdoor adventures invite moments of renewal between patient rounds, making every assignment feel like a balanced blend of purpose and discovery.

Colorado offers a unique canvas for your nursing journey. In Lamar, you’ll experience a welcoming community with a strong sense of place, where your clinical leadership can thrive in a smaller setting that values teamwork and direct impact. Beyond the hospital walls, you’ll have access to the state’s remarkable landscapes—from expansive plains under broad skies to nearby trails and parks ideal for weekend exploration.

The region’s pace encourages thoughtful, patient-centered care, while your travel assignments across the U.S. expose you to varied practice environments, enabling you to refine technique, adapt to different hospital cultures, and cultivate a robust professional network. This combination of intimate community focus and nationwide opportunity makes this role a powerful platform for growth, while the location itself offers a respite‑filled backdrop to recharge after demanding shifts.

Role

specifics and benefits

As the L&D-focused Travel RN, you’ll manage labor progress, fetal and maternal monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response in coordination with obstetricians, midwives, and neonatal teams. You’ll perform routine and complex assessments, manage high‑risk pregnancies, assist with delivery and cesarean procedures when indicated, and provide immediate post‑delivery care and family support. Your responsibilities will include thorough documentation, patient and family education, and adherence to evidence‑based protocols for infection control, pain management, and newborn safety.

You’ll lead with clinical excellence—anticipating complications, communicating clearly with the care team, and prioritizing patient dignity and autonomy. The role offers continuous professional growth within L&D, with opportunities to enhance skills in newborn stabilization, lactation support, and obstetric emergency preparedness. You’ll enjoy a competitive compensation package with a weekly pay range of $2,618 to $2,771, and you’ll have 36 guaranteed hours per week on contract, with start date 01/05/2026 for an extended assignment spanning multiple weeks.

In addition to competitive pay, we offer a sign‑on bonus, housing assistance, and the potential for contract extensions to align with your career goals and the hospital’s staffing needs. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a 24/7 travel team, ensuring you have dependable help whenever and wherever you practice, from housing coordination to credentialing and on‑site onboarding. The program emphasizes a supportive framework for travel nurses, including access to clinical mentors, peer networks, and structured pathways for advancing to leadership or specialty roles within the broader organization.
