Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shifts in Colorado with a current RN license and strong obstetric skills.

Responsibilities

• Position located in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit

• Night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am for a 13-week assignment

• Full-time schedule averaging 36 hours per week

• Care for women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and provide newborn care

• Involves preparation for C-sections, inductions, and maintaining documentation

• May rotate shifts and areas depending on staffing and census

• On-call duties are required

• Responsible for providing direct maternal and newborn care throughout the birth process

• Includes patient assessments, fetal monitoring, administering IV medications, and infection control procedures

• Prepares delivery rooms and provides emotional support to patients and families

• Coordinates patient transfers as needed

• Reports directly to the Birth Center Manager

• Professional communication and teamwork are essential

Requirements

• Active Colorado or compact RN license

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Current CPR certification required

• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS must be obtained within one year of employment

• At least 4 years of obstetric care experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care

• Ability to perform under highly stressful situations

• Physical ability for long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting
