Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse*

* Job Description:

* - Provide direct patient care for women in labor and during delivery.
- Support postpartum care and provide exceptional care to newborns.
- Conduct thorough assessments and monitor the labor process closely.
- Prepare for C-sections and inductions with detailed coordination.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of nursing care and procedures.
- Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum, including infant care.
- Offer patient education and invaluable emotional support to families.
- Organize delivery room setups and coordinate patient transfers efficiently.
- Administer IV medications while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Engage with state-of-the-art obstetric equipment and techniques.

** Accountability:*
* - Report directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager.

** Special Demands:*
* - Stand and walk for long periods; capable of heavy lifting.
- Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.

* Qualifications:

- Education:

RN graduate with current Colorado licensure.

- Certifications:

Current CPR certification;
Neonatal Resuscitation and ACLS within one year of employment.

* - Minimum of 7 years in Obstetrics preferred.

* - Strong knowledge or an eagerness to learn about labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother/infant care essentials.
- Proficient in sterile techniques and infection control principles.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse individuals.

** Working Environment:*
* - Full-time position, 36 hours per week, working the night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
- Flexibility to rotate shifts and areas based on staffing needs.
- On-call availability required.
