RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 40-hour work week with general hours 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday

• Occasional late days required to complete surgical case loads

• Rotational call schedule averaging 1-2 days per week and every other weekend or every 3rd weekend

• Must have experience in all three areas:
Pre-op, OR/Circulator, and PACU

• Function as primary caregiver across all three surgical service areas

• Conduct patient assessments and document care throughout surgical process

• Provide emotional support and coordinate patient transfers

• Circulate surgical cases including general, OB/GYN, ophthalmology (cataract surgery), and orthopedic surgeries

• Assist with processing instruments and equipment in central sterilizing

• Prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education

• Must adhere to infection control principles and department policies

• Follow national standards through IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN

• Current Colorado RN licensure required

• 3 years Pre-op/OR/PACU experience preferred

• ACLS certification required

• CNOR certification preferred

• Scrub experience preferred

• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations

• Must handle long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting

• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases possible

Facility:

This medical center features a comprehensive surgical services department with 3 operating room suites, 3 PACU beds, a pre-operative area, and 1 anesthesia provider. The facility performs a variety of surgical procedures including general surgery, OB/GYN procedures, ophthalmology surgeries (particularly cataract procedures), and orthopedic surgeries performed once to twice monthly. The surgical services department maintains high standards following national guidelines and provides a full spectrum of perioperative care.
