STAFF is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Lamar, Colorado.

Surgical cases:
General, OB/GYN, Ophth (cataract surgery) & Orthopedics surgeries once to twice a month
General Description:
The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within all 3/scope of practice with in surgical services; see listing below:
Must have experience in all 3 areas!! 1. Pre-op 2. OR/Circulator
3. PACU. The RN will function as a primary care giver, an must be able to function in all three areas.
SHIFT: 40/hr. work week, Rotational call, weekdays, weekends, & Holidays. Employment Variables:
General working hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday, with occasional late days to complete surgical case loads of that day. Rotational surgical call with other circulating staff members averaging 1 to 2 days a week and every other weekend or every 3rd weekend, depending on number of circulators at that time.
Responsibility Conducts assessments, documents care, provides emotional support, coordinates transfers, recovers patients, circulates cases, assist with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilizing and prepares patients for surgery. Assist other staff members and provides patient education. Knowledge of and/or interest in technical procedures and care. Adheres to principles of infection control and general policies of the department. Follows national standards thru IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN.
Accountability Reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager and/or her designee.
Special Demands Mental:
Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication skills.
Physical:
Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting. Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.
Qualifications
Education:
RN graduate with current Colorado licensure.
Experience:
3 Years Pre-op/OR/PACU experience preferred.
Skills:
ACLS certification, CNOR preferred, scrub experience preferred also.

STAFF Job . Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
