Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an RN with combined OR Circulator, Pre-Op, and PACU experience for a surgical services role requiring a CO or compact license and rotational call coverage.

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 6 years of nursing experience required
• 3 years of combined Pre-Op/OR/PACU experience preferred
• ACLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Scrub experience preferred

• Work in a surgical services department with 3 OR suites, 3 PACU/Pre-Op bays, and 1 anesthesia provider
• Surgical cases include General, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology (cataract), and Orthopedics (1-2 times monthly)
• Function across all three scopes of practice:
  Pre-Op, OR Circulator, and PACU
• Day shift hours generally 6:30am-2:30pm/3:00pm Monday through Friday with occasional late days on high case load days
• Rotational surgical call required averaging 1-2 days per week plus every other or every third weekend depending on staffing
• Call coverage includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Conduct patient assessments, document care, provide emotional support, and coordinate transfers
• Recover patients post-anesthesia and circulate surgical cases
• Assist with processing instruments and equipment in central sterilizing
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education
• Adhere to infection control principles and department policies, following standards set by IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN
• Reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager or designee
• Role requires long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases should be expected
