Operations SuperintendentThe primary responsibilities of the Operations Superintendent will be to guide, organize, and direct the hourly workforce in conjunction with managing Lamesa plant operations. This position will plan and schedule production and mining activities to meet production goals as well as work towards controlling plant costs through effective planning and management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan and schedule necessary activities with production departments
- Communicate production issues to Operations Superintendent and identify areas for improvement
- Manage specific production areas as directed by Operations Superintendent
- Assist the Operations Superintendent with the development and execution of safety plans
- Perform administrative duties required to meet job goals including planning, scheduling and reporting
- Follow and promote all safety regulations and report any hazardous conditions immediately
- Assist Operations Superintendent to ensure development and execution of production activities as outlined within the operations plan
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience, and
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field; a combination of education and relevant on-the-job experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining industry.
- Experience supervising teams in a unionized environment; prior management experience or equivalent background as an Operations Supervisor in mining or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
- Organization:
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively; strong organizational skills that support timely and successful execution of responsibilities. - Cooperation:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and adapt to a wide range of personalities and working styles. - Problem Analysis:
Logical and analytical thinker with strong troubleshooting abilities; able to assess issues quickly and make sound, timely decisions. - Special
Skills:
Proven ability to manage several assignments simultaneously and drive projects to completion within established timelines; highly proactive and self‑directed.
