A growing accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an Accounts Advisor to join its Bury team, offering hybrid working. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients, preparing accounts, tax returns and VAT returns, while providing practical financial advice. The role will also involve assisting with audits, supporting junior team members and developing strong client relationships.
Accounts Advisor Overview- Preparing sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts.
- Preparing VAT returns using Xero and managing larger bookkeeping assignments.
- Preparing Corporation Tax computations, including capital allowances.
- Completing Personal Income Tax and dividend-related work.
- Assisting with audit assignments and completing allocated audit sections.
- Training and reviewing junior staff on bookkeeping, VAT and sole trader work.
- Ensuring client work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Supporting senior team members with KPI targets and client requirements.
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to client meetings.
- Identifying business development opportunities and building professional networks.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
- Strong accounts preparation experience across sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Good working knowledge of UK GAAP.
- Experience with VAT returns and Corporation Tax computations.
- Good knowledge of Personal Income Tax and dividends.
- Bookkeeping experience, ideally with Xero.
- Previous audit experience would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
- A willingness to continue professional studies and develop technical knowledge.
- Salary & Benefits
- 35,000 - 45,000 salary, dependent upon experience.
