Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Accountant to join their growing team in a client-facing position. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of SME clients whilst providing technical accounting and tax expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client relationships, reviewing technical work, supporting team development, and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service across a varied client base.
The RoleAs a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing work completed by junior team members, and delivering expert accounting and taxation advice. You will work closely with management whilst supporting both clients and colleagues across a broad range of accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a range of sectors.
- Conducting client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
- Preparation and completion of statutory annual accounts.
- Reviewing and signing off work completed by junior team members.
- Providing tax planning and advisory support to clients and submission of self-assessment tax returns.
- Managing HMRC enquiries, audits, and investigations.
- Advising clients on income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE matters.
- Monitoring performance and analysing KPI data.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of junior team members.
- Participating in management meetings and contributing to business objectives.
- Maintaining excellent client relationships and delivering exceptional service standards.
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
- Advanced understanding of Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE.
- Previous experience managing or supervising a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
