Manchester, UK - Hybrid At Hologic, we're passionate about improving lives through innovative medical technology. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team.
As Assistant Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting the Finance team with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
YourKey Responsibilities Will Include
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L analysis and commentary.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Identifying and posting accruals and prepayments.
- Completing daily bank reconciliations for GBP, EUR, and USD bank accounts.
- Supporting the Management Accountant with monthly commentary files and quarterly reporting packs.
- Assisting with audit queries and providing supporting documentation as required.
- Preparing and posting payroll journals.
- Maintaining robust financial controls and processes.
- Challenging existing processes and supporting continuous improvement.
- Carrying out ad hoc duties as required by management or to meet business needs.
- An AAT qualification or a finance/accounting degree.
- Drive and ambition to become a fully qualified finance professional.
- A proactive approach and willingness to improve existing processes and controls.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and a structured, diligent way of working.
- The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines.
- A positive, enthusiastic mindset.
- A collaborative, team-focused approach.
Previous experience in a finance or accounting role would be beneficial, but a strong willingness to learn and develop is equally important.

Salary: £28,000 - £33,500 gross per year
The final offer will depend on experience, skills, and alignment with internal pay structures. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including pension and insurances.
