Job Summary
Theatres are looking to employ a full‑time clerical administration assistant to support the General Manager/Matron and Band 7 staff. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, diverse and motivated multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for day‑to‑day administration, including producing confidential documents, audit data and reports, managing theatre allocations with hourly updates due to schedule changes, and supporting governance and performance work by producing advanced analytic reports.
The role also involves supporting the procurement lead within the department.
- Produce confidential documents and audit data/reports.
- Update and manage theatre allocations on an hourly basis.
- Support governance and performance activities by creating advanced analytic reports.
- Assist the procurement lead with departmental tasks.
- Collect theatre data for various national platforms.
- Provide secretarial support to the theatre manager, matron and Band 7 staff.
- Prepare information for meetings to ensure effective participation by colleagues and clinicians.
- Work efficiently with minimum supervision.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proven communication skills and high standards of accurate documentation.
- Previous experience in a similar clerical/administration role.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- IT‑related qualifications.
- Desire to develop own knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people and is therefore subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020. A Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required to confirm no previous criminal convictions.
