What we are looking for: The successful candidate will be part of the Registration Team based at Blackburn with Darwen Register Office offering a professional and dedicated Registration and Ceremonies service. You will provide the highest standards of customer care and deal with customers professionally and sensitively.
In this role you will be required to provide an efficient and effective registration service for births, deaths, marriages, and civil partnerships in accordance with statutory duties, and in line with service standards as determined by the Proper Officer.
Applicants must have registration knowledge and experience in civil registration and be able to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, as well as a good level of numeric and written skills.
With a passion for excellent customer care, and a flair for creative thinking and innovation – you will combine your knowledge and experience of the Registration and Ceremonies service with an ability to deliver a first-class service.
You will work 37 hours per week you must however be able to work flexibly to meet demand.
You will receive 26 days plus public/bank holidays paid leave on commencement this will increase to 31 days plus public/bank holidays after 5 years.
To fulfil the service’s statutory obligations, weekend and Bank Holiday working is required - this is on a rota basis, and you will receive remuneration.
You will be based at the Blackburn with Darwen Register Office, Town Hall, King William Street, Blackburn, BB1 7DY
.
You will need to attend approved premises and outstations within the borough when required.
You must be able to travel to and from ceremony venues and outstations using private transport.
Due to service restrictions remote working is not possible although this may change in the future following proposed legislative changes.
