About the Role

As a Child and Family Practitioner, you will work alongside social workers and other professionals to provide specialist support to children, young people, and their families. You will undertake direct work with families, contribute to SMART plans, attend key meetings, and record interventions to evidence positive outcomes. This role is vital in helping families achieve sustainable change and ensuring children are safe, healthy, and able to reach their full potential.

You may occasionally be required to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays to meet service needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children and families subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans.
  • Undertake direct work using specialist tools and interventions.
  • Contribute to meetings, reports, and court processes as required.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure timely updates.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver the best outcomes for families.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice.
About You
  • Qualified to a professional or academic level or has substantial vocational experience in a relevant field.
  • Experienced working with children, young people, and families.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding, child development, and relevant legislation.
  • Skilled in communication, both written and verbal, and confident using IT systems.
  • Committed to equality, diversity, and health and safety.
  • Able to work flexibly and as part of a team.

Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a car insured for business use. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities.
