The Company
Our client is a well-established Lancashire-based main contractor with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the North West. With a healthy pipeline of secured work through public sector frameworks and repeat business, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of new build and refurbishment projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with the Commercial Director, Project Managers and site teams, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
This position would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor background who enjoys managing multiple projects and being part of a close-knit commercial team delivering meaningful public sector schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects from tender award through to final account.
Preparing cost plans, valuations, variations and financial reports.
Procuring subcontractors and suppliers, including preparing enquiry packages and analysing tender returns.
Negotiating subcontract agreements and managing subcontractor accounts.
Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasts to maximise profitability.
Preparing interim applications for payment and agreeing valuations with clients.
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Working collaboratively with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.
Experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects.
Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and commercial management.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
Full UK Driving Licence.
