Overview

Primary School Teaching Assistant (SEN) in Rochdale (OL16).

A Specialist Provision attached to a mainstream Primary (OL16).

Multiple full-time and part-time roles available; short-term and long-term positions; varied start dates. Competitive rate 90 - 110 per day.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting pupils with additional needs in a specialist provision within a mainstream primary setting.
  • Create positive relationships with pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour.
  • Provide general support within classes and work collaboratively with other LSAs and class teachers.
  • Support pupils with MLD, ASC, SCLN, SpLD, Visual impairments and HI where applicable.
Available roles
  • Long-term roles: full-time positions (Monday–Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm or 8.30am–4.00pm); commitment to the school on a long-term basis; possibility of securing a permanent role.
  • Short-term roles: part-time and/or full-time positions with varied/ad-hoc days (e.g., 8.30am–1.00pm, 12.00pm–3.30pm, 8.30am–3.30pm, 4.00pm); covering emergency or scheduled absences.
Experience and qualifications
  • Open to a variety of backgrounds; experienced SEN support assistants, graduates entering specialist provision, or those with care/youth worker experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Ideal but not essential: background in supporting individuals with additional needs.
