Position: SEMH Children's Support Worker.
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (depending on candidate)
Location: Blackpool.
Start Date: 5th January 2026
We are searching for a caring, adaptable, and motivated SEMH Children's Support Worker to become part of our warm and inclusive school community. This role involves supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs on an individual basis, helping them to access learning, develop key skills, and grow in confidence so they can thrive both academically and personally.
Responsibilities:- Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil, following their EHCP and individual learning requirements.
- Assist the child in accessing classroom activities by simplifying tasks and offering consistent encouragement.
- Nurture the pupil's social, emotional, and behavioural growth through positive and supportive strategies.
- Work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver effective support plans.
- Encourage independence, self-confidence, and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Maintain the child's safety, comfort, and overall wellbeing throughout the school day.
- Has experience in care, support work, or another people-centred role.
- Shows patience, empathy, and confidence when supporting children with additional needs.
- Communicates clearly and can build strong, trusting relationships.
- Stays calm, adaptable, and able to use initiative in a busy school environment.
- Is eager to learn and develop through training and ongoing guidance.
- Comprehensive training and continuous support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
