We are looking for friendly, proactive, and digitally confident individuals to lead our library teams.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Library Officer, you will lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day‑to‑day operations of the library.
  • Planning and delivering a wide range of events (e.g. author events, class visits).
  • Supporting customers with digital services (e.g. eBooks, passport applications).
  • Building partnerships with local organisations.
  • Monitoring performance and ensuring service excellence.

This is a permanent post and you will be appointed to two library bases. Hours of work are listed against the available post and are a set working pattern over two weeks, please see the rota
attachment at the bottom of the advert. These hours cannot be changed.

Interview Process

The interview process will be in two parts:

Part 1

All shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an information session
. This will last around 1 hour and involve:

  • A meeting with a manager
  • Tour of the library and explanation of duties
Part 2

All applicants attending the information sessions will be invited for interview
.

Information Session: Wednesday 18th March – Lostock Hall Library 2.30 – 3.30pm

Interview Date: Wednesday 25th March – Lostock Hall Library
