What You'll Be DoingAs a Library Officer, you will lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day‑to‑day operations of the library.
- Planning and delivering a wide range of events (e.g. author events, class visits).
- Supporting customers with digital services (e.g. eBooks, passport applications).
- Building partnerships with local organisations.
- Monitoring performance and ensuring service excellence.
This is a permanent post and you will be appointed to two library bases. Hours of work are listed against the available post and are a set working pattern over two weeks, please see the rota
attachment at the bottom of the advert. These hours cannot be changed.

The interview process will be in two parts:
Part 1All shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an information session
. This will last around 1 hour and involve:
- A meeting with a manager
- Tour of the library and explanation of duties
All applicants attending the information sessions will be invited for interview

Information Session: Wednesday 18th March – Lostock Hall Library 2.30 – 3.30pm
Interview Date: Wednesday 25th March – Lostock Hall Library

Please note the salary quoted for this position is the full time equivalent. These positions are part time, therefore, the salary received will be paid on a pro‑rata basis.
