Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: 600- 750 per week (Dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Are you an experienced and passionate SEND professional looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs?
We are seeking a Specialist SEND Support Practitioner to join a supportive and inclusive secondary and sixth form school in Bury, working with pupils aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
Role and Responsibilities:- Provide expert support to pupils with complex learning, sensory, or behavioural needs.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised interventions that promote learning, engagement, and independence.
- Support the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
- Use your specialist skills to help pupils access the curriculum, develop life skills, and achieve personal goals.
- Mentor and coach other staff in best practice strategies for SEND support.
- Professional experience in specialist SEND support, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of autism, sensory needs, behaviour support, and other complex learning difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies.
- A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach, with a commitment to enabling every pupil to thrive.
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Have an enhanced child barred list DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
- Be able to provide two professional references (child-related preferred)
