KS1 Teaching Assistant - Part Time

  • Location:

    Leigh based Primary School
  • Start Date:

    9th March
  • Temporary Long Term - Until End of Summer Term at least
  • Part Timer Mornings only

Premier Education are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with special educational needs. The student is well behaved but does need some assistance with personal care and when using the bathroom.

This is a part-time, temporary position starting from 9th March through to the end of the summer term pending additional funding. This would be perfect for someone who has their own childcare and school drop off responsibilities as the hours fit nicely within school hours.

The Role
  • Providing consistent 1:1 support within a Year 1 classroom
  • Supporting a pupil with medical and personal care/toileting needs
  • Ensuring the child's safety, dignity and wellbeing at all times
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Supervising and supporting during lunchtime
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have experience working in a primary school setting (EYFS/KS1 desirable)
  • Be confident supporting pupils with medical and personal care needs
  • Demonstrate a nurturing, patient and calm approach
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Be reliable and committed to maintaining consistency for the child

Relevant training (e.g. Paediatric First Aid, Moving & Handling, Medical Needs training) would be advantageous, though not essential.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's daily school experience within a supportive and caring team.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with safer recruitment practices. This role involves safeguarding responsibilities, and the candidate must be committed to promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship for non-UK candidates.
