Role OverviewThe Higher Level Teaching Assistant will work with teachers to organise and support teaching and learning activities for classes. The primary focus is to cover PPA time, and to carry out specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.

Contribute fully as an integral part of the St Kentigern’s team in a one‑form entry Catholic Primary school.

Post requirements:
- DBS
- Medical clearance
- Verification of qualifications and National Insurance number
- Two references including a judgement about suitability to work with children
- A member of the interview panel trained in implementing Child Protection procedures
- In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, online search carried out
- For teaching positions, barred list checks and prohibition from teaching checks carried out
- For leadership positions, section 128 checks performed
Grade: NJC pay Grade E - scale point range 12 to 17
Salary: £28,598.00 to £31,022.00 (pro rata, pay award pending)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only plus 5 inset days
Hours: 30 per week
Start date: 1st September 2026
