Job Overview
We are proudly working in partnership with a Specialist Provision School Trust in the Wigan Area to recruit skilled and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work with secondary‑aged pupils with a variety of SEND and additional needs.
Our school runs over two specialist sites supporting pupils in academic learning and life skills. Based in Leigh and Wigan centre, we offer roles in connection with pupil funding. The Trust provides GCSE and abridged curriculum models to help pupils set achievable goals and personal milestones, and we have unique facilities on site for SEND learners to help provide a calm and nurturing environment.
We work with pupils with Autism, ADHD, EBD, physical, SEMH and learning needs. A variety of enrichment and life‑skills activities is also included within the curriculum and the school day. Some personal care may be required within this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be working on a one‑to‑one or two‑to‑one basis within pupils to provide excellent quality of support and remove barriers to learning. You will also assist with academic and life‑skills curriculum, support enrichment activities, and help foster a supportive learning environment.
Requirements- Recent references (2 years)
- Experience of working with children in the last 5 years inside or outside of education
- Up to date DBS preferred but not essential
Overseas teaching qualification or recent experience of working in specialist provision.
