We are recruiting for a passionate and resilient Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Chorley. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact, supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.
The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with complex needs, focusing on building trust, confidence, and positive relationships alongside academic progress.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning barriers
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently
- Monitor and track student progress, adapting approaches as necessary
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
- Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, resilient approach
- Ability to build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
