We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated SEND Tutor to provide high-quality educational support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), medical needs, and other barriers to learning.
This rewarding role involves delivering personalised learning programmes that help pupils re‑engage with education, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
- Support pupils at Key Stage 4 in one‑to‑one and small‑group settings.
- Work with learners who may have SEND, autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, anxiety, school avoidance, or medical conditions.
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches to maximise engagement and achievement.
- Liaise effectively with families, schools, local authorities, and other professionals.
- Deliver sessions in community settings.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Relevant tutoring experience.
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
- Flexible and creative in their approach.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils who may have had negative educational experiences.
- Committed to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and educational success.
