About the RoleAt Crookhey Hall School, we are looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our team. This is more than a support role – it is a chance to build meaningful relationships, nurture confidence and help pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will be there for the breakthrough moments: the first time a pupil believes in themselves, masters a new skill or discovers a talent they never knew they had.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to create engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable every child to thrive. No two days are the same. One moment, you might be supporting a pupil on a one‑to‑one basis in the classroom; the next, you will be helping facilitate group activities, preparing exciting learning resources or accompanying pupils on educational visits that broaden their horizons.
Working as part of a supportive and passionate team, you will help create a nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued and inspired to achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with individual pupils and small groups on exciting educational activities.
- Support teachers in developing and delivering tailored learning programmes.
- Encourage positive relationships, self‑esteem, and social development.
- Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and preparation of learning materials.
- Join our pupils on educational visits and occasional transport to enhance their learning experience.
- Contribute to pupil progress reports and share insights at staff meetings.
- Passionate about helping children and young people thrive.
- Patient, caring and enthusiastic, with a positive outlook.
- A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues.
- Committed to supporting pupils both academically and emotionally.
- An excellent communicator who can build positive relationships with pupils and families.
- Adaptable, proactive and ready to embrace new challenges.
- In possession of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
