Key Stage are looking for enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team and support primary and secondary schools across Blackburn and Accrington.

Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant, have worked with children in another setting, or are looking to begin a rewarding career in education, we'd love to hear from you.

We have a variety of day‑to‑day, short‑term, long‑term and permanent opportunities available to suit your experience and availability.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to help pupils achieve their full potential by providing classroom and individual support.

  • Supporting pupils on a one‑to‑one basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement in learning.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.
  • Supporting children across a range of subjects and year groups.
We Are Looking For
  • Teaching Assistant experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • A caring, patient and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Flexibility and reliability.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
